The Tailcoat (“White Tie”)
Timeless, masculine, refined – the official attire for ultra-formal evening occasions.
The invitation will specify “White Tie” when a tailcoat is required.
General rule: worn after 6 p.m., or better yet, after nightfall.
Worn with: black top hat, deep-cut white piqué waistcoat, white tailcoat shirt with piqué bib.
Must-haves: white bow tie and black patent leather shoes.
